Celebrate the opening day of the 10th Anniversary New Orleans Ragtime Festival with an afternoon of free live music at the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park.
Experience ragtime, the music that birthed jazz, through performances by outstanding musicians and a special dance demonstration and instructional session.
1:00 p.m. — El Puente featuring Margie Perez
Experience a special program exploring the connections between Caribbean rhythms and ragtime.
Approximately 2:15–2:45 p.m. — Dance Demonstration and Instruction
Watch and learn as dancers demonstrate different dances from the ragtime era, with brief instruction for those who want to join in.
3:00 p.m. — Kyle Roussel
Enjoy a performance by Grammy-nominated New Orleans pianist Kyle Roussel.
Free and open to the public. No Festival Pass or ticket is required.
