The Rent Is Too Damn High! Closing Reception

Join us for our last hurrah for the tricentennial exhibition,The Rent Is Too Damn High! a tricentennial exhibition. The Big Class Youth Writers’ Council will read excerpts of their book, There Is No School Without Us, a a literary conversation between current teachers and students from first to twelfth grade, around the current state of New Orleans Schools; followed by performances, directed by Pamela Davis-Noland, including a dance piece performed by Jarrell Hamilton; and a mock-debate between historical figures Marie Laveau and Juan San Malo, moderated by Andreanecia Morris, Executive Director of HousingNOLA. The hilarious Riga Ruby will host, while DJ Chris Stylez will curate the iconic sounds of New Orleans.
